Project: Ratho Street, Greenock

ark were approached by Turnberry Homes to develop a mixed use development masterplan for the former Kincaids site in Greenock. The brief was to provide residential accommodation, together with a nursing home and commercial office space. Our client would build out the residential element only and acquired the site from Clydeport in 2004.
The A8 (East Hamilton Street) corridor is an important link in the regeneration of the Inverclyde waterfront and the Planning Department emphasised the need for design quality and scale along the frontage.
The scheme has a total of 121 units comprising 3,4,5 and 6 storey flats in four linear blocks along the street frontage overlooking the James Watt Dock, with detached and semi-detached houses behind, overlooking a landscaped garden.
